The Sennheiser PXC 250 uses something called a noise guard that actively cuts out outside noise using noise compensation this is done with a small device that connects to the headphones and requires 2 AAA batteries and that cuts out all the noise around you.

This is very light and compact it folds so that it would easily fit in your pocket. The ear cups are especially compact. The ear cups have a leather cushion feel for added comfort and also to provide an effective seal for noise suppression.

High resolution sound is produced because it has a duo fold diaphragm that not only cuts out outside noise but also gives you crystal clear sound. Just what Sennheiser is renowned for, high quality sound output.

You have a standard plug that comes with this but it has 2 adapters so that it can be easily plugged into your PC, TV, gaming console etc and the second one is a two-pronged adapter for in-flight movies so that when you travel you can watch movies on the plane with out having to pay the usual $5 – $10 to watch it.

Verdict – Very effective noise canceling and very comfortable to wear. Compact and easy to carry. The sound quality was great especially in the mid range. The high and low end bass were lacking a bit. But at this price the sound was almost as good as other headphones twice the cost of this one. This would definitely rate as a strong buy as the new Sennheiser PXC 350 is out and you can easily pick up a bargain one of the PXC 250′s now.

When you are stuck on a plane for 23 hours travelling to Europe when you finally arrive there you hear the hum of the aircraft engines for a couple of days after. To date these are the best headphones we have tested for deadening aircraft engine noise. Just put the Bose QuietComfort 2 Headphones on, there is no need to crank up the volume, and close your eyes and you could be anywhere your imagination will take you. You certainly won’t think you are sitting on a noisy aircraft. All the surrounding noise is completely blocked out.

The headphones are well designed and the oval shape ear cups are very comfortable. They fit neatly over the ear without pinching and make a comfortable seal to cut out any noise.

This headphone is powered by 1 AAA battery. This gives you about 30 hours of listening pleasure and by buying rechargeable batteries you will be able to use these headphones all day if you want for a very low cost. These headphones also comes equipped with a cell phone input.

The only negative that I could think of is that they are a bit bulky. Even though the Headphone folds to make it more compact to carry I still found them to be a little bit bulky.
